Recently, some of the work Eagle Rivet has performed was singled out by the American Institute of Architects. Each year the Connecticut chapter of AIA bestows awards on several high quality projects. You can read the jury comment about the project featured above:
This small guest house, with its green roof, takes the simplicity of a cube and the vernacular of New England geometry and abstracts into an elegant play of cubic and diagonal geometrics.
The jury was impressed with the spare use of materials that reinforces the simplicity of form. It sits on the site lightly and with grace.
In addition to the guest house, the AIA also singled out a storage barn and a Jesuit Community Center which we performed work on. You can view all of the AIA Connecticut 2010 Design Awards Winners here.
